Ombra & Luce – “Shadow & Light” | Illuminating Spaces
Hi! I’m Claudia, the founder of Ombra & Luce. I was born and raised in Italy, surrounded by beauty—stunning landscapes, fashion, and home décor were just part of my everyday life. I’ve always loved color, fabrics, and design, but it took me a long time to realise that this was more than just a passion—it was what I was meant to do.
For over 24 years, I worked as a Marketing Manager. While creativity was always the most exciting part of my job, I didn’t immediately recognise that my path was right in front of me. Deep down, I knew I wasn’t where I truly belonged, yet the stability of my career and family responsibilities made change feel impossible.
Then, at the end of 2023, something clicked. I decided it was now or never. I quit my job without a clear plan; I just needed a change (yes, I still don’t believe I did). Suddenly, I had time on my hands, and one day, I decided to redo an old lampshade. That simple act became a revelation — and just like that, Ombra & Luce was born. What started as a simple DIY project turned into a new adventure, bringing light, shadow, and beauty into spaces.
People often ask, “Isn’t it hard to let them go?” But it’s not—the joy of sharing what I love and receiving appreciation for my designs is incredibly fulfilling.
The Joy of Craft
At Ombra & Luce, every creation starts with a moment of inspiration. I’m always searching for unique vases and objects—pieces that catch my eye for their shape, texture, or color. Often, I already imagine them paired with a particular fabric I have in the studio, and I can see the final piece before it even begins.
Alongside my main collection, I also enjoy giving new life to existing lamps—refurbishing vintage finds or creating something fresh from old parts.
For me, it’s all about seeing beauty in unexpected forms and combining them with the right materials to create something personal, elegant, and full of joy.

Shadow and Light are at the core of how we experience the world—they shape our emotions, perceptions, and the spaces we live in. I love exploring the perfect balance between shadow and light.
